Week 6 - Assignment 2-2

Five Edmodo Functions

1.     Gradebook – The grade book can be used to keep students up to date on their grades. Assignments grades can be added manually on to the grade book. Teachers can edit and update a student’s grade anytime. Grades can be exported from a different file and be integrated into the grade book. Badges can be awarded to the students through grade book as well.

2.     Polls – The polls are a good way to collect feedback from the students regarding a topic. They can be assigned to a group or community. The polls are taken anonymously. They can be used to activate students’ background knowledge and the results can be analyzed after the polls are taken.

3.     Library – The library allows teachers to organize and share all types of documents. With unlimited storage, all types of video, photo or files can be uploaded into the library. The contents of the library can be organized into categories for easy management. The materials in the library can be shared with other teachers as well as a group. The search and filter feature can be used to locate a specific content more easily.

4.     Planner – The planner allow a teacher to create assignments and post the due dates for the students. Once this is done, the same assignment is added on to the students’ planners with the notification of the due date. This feature helps students and teachers stay organized about assignments, quizzes, projects and upcoming events. An event created can be shared with an entire group while a task can be shared with individuals only.

5.     Student Badges – The badges are a way to reward students for their positive behavior. Teachers can use a pre-designed award or create one of their own. The badges can be shared with other teachers. They can be given to many students in a group. It’s also possible to delete and take away a badge from a student anytime.

  1. The Polls feature is a great way to get feedback from the students. And I love how the planner could get linked to the students' planners so they know immediately when there is an assignment due.
