My
name is Fatima Johara. I am currently teaching grade 4 at a private school in
Queens, New York. I graduated from NYIT in 2008 as a Business Administration
major and started teaching that same year. I never thought about teaching but
over the past few years, I realized this is something I really enjoy. It gives
me a sense of fulfillment. That’s I decided to start my Masters in this field. I
teach the five major subjects: Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science and Social
Studies. Of all the subjects I teach, my favorite is Science and Social
Studies. I also enjoy teaching Math, especially when we have hands on
activities. Some of my hobbies are watching movies, cooking, doing arts and
crafts and shopping online. My husband I have two kittens named Tom (boy) and
Jerry (girl).
If
I were to write a book about myself, I would name it “The Other Me.” My
students are always curious about my life and what I do when I’m not teaching.
I guess an autobiography would be a good place to start. One of my favorites
jokes is “What do you call cheese that is not yours?....NACHO CHEESE :D One of
my students told me this joke recently and it gave me a good laugh. :)
This is also my favorite joke! The book title sounds interesting! :D Sharing with picture of Tom and Jerry? *-^

ReplyDeleteThat's great! What made you switch from economics? I love being in a classroom environment and discussing topics with my students and learning with them. It's such a fun and lively environment.
